Thanks to the interconnection of its own rail transport, open terminal and forwarding and logistics services, PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL Group can offer extensive intermodal transport services in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries.
As an independent rail transport company, we provide services to important intermodal transport operators, forwarding agents and other independent companies. Fast, safe, reliable, regular and flexible transport are the main requirements for transporting intermodal transport units. We own an extensive fleet of locomotives that can operate in several countries.
We dispatch entire trains and have the capability to reload ISO containers, road trailers and exchangeable extensions (swap bodies). We offer “Just in Time” transport and monitor the whereabouts of trains via “Track & Trace”.
ACTS system and road transport
We are the largest ACTS system operator in Central Europe and the only one in the Czech Republic. The ACTS system consists of special rolling containers, road carriers and freight wagons with revolving frames for containers. PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL has more than 400 ACTS containers of various types, 80 freight wagons of the Slps type and dozen automobile carriers and re-loaders.
PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL’s terminal in Paskov contribute to the development of intermodal transport provided by the company.
Paskov Terminal
PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL operates one of the few open independent terminals in the Czech Republic. Terminal Paskov covers an area of 70,000 m² and has a capacity of 4 800 TEU with 3 tracks that are 270 m in length and 2 tracks 375 m in length. It is located in the vicinity of industrial zones and the borders with Poland and Slovakia. At Terminal Paskov, the company offers its customers comprehensive services related to the intermodal transshipment of goods.
Its strategic position in the heart of Europe gives it quick and easy connections to major European ports and terminals. It is located close to the highway and has a rail connection to the national rail network.
The Terminal is used for both PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL and external firms and provides all activities related to handling, transport and distribution, light repair of containers, trains clearance and storing containers at the depot, as well as customs services at the local customs office situated on the premises of the Terminal.
At this Terminal PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL has a container loader that can stack containers up to five levels and can handle not only conventional ISO containers, but also road semi-trailers and swap bodies.
The Terminal has a parking space available for 130 trailers, connections for cooling containers, and a special place for containers with dangerous goods*. It also has an advanced dispatching control center, a customs office, declaration and other related external services and companies.
The comprehensive services of PKP CARGO INTERNATIONAL at the Terminal include the disposition of towing vehicles for containers and trailers.
* Terminal Paskov does not meet the requirements necessary for high consequence dangerous goods or for class 1 (explosive substances and articles) and 7 (radioactive material), therefore handling these dangerous goods is not possible at Terminal Paskov (i.e. neither receiving nor shipping them). Determining whether transported dangerous goods belong to the category of high consequence dangerous goods can be done under the relevant UN number, name, class, classification code and packing group from Table A of Chapter 3.2 of RID (ADR) and according to the list of high consequence dangerous goods in Table 1.10.3.1.2 of RID/ADR. In case of doubt, customers can go to any safety adviser for the transport of dangerous goods or to the employees of the Terminal.
