The OKD Foundation
Advanced World Transport and the OKD Foundation have a lot in common. Their roots are in the Moravia-Silesia Region yet their sphere of operation has long since crossed far beyond its borders. AWT is a regular donor to the OKD Foundation and has its representative on the managing board. Accordingly, we also participate in selection of the projects by means of which the OKD Foundation supports the development of the Moravia-Silesia Region, above all those pertaining to the environment, education, sports, the social and health sphere and culture.
We are pleased that through the Foundation we are able to enhance the quality of life in the region where we do business and a large number of our employees live.
The OKD Foundation is one of the largest corporate foundations in the Czech Republic. Since its establishment in 2008 it has supported more than 800 projects, with the total sum exceeding CZK 120 million.

(At the present time, the AWT representative on the OKD Foundation's managing board is Petr Jonák, director of the group's corporate communication.)
Mining Museum in Landek
At the end of 2010, the AWT group renewed its co-operation with the Ostrava's Landek complex, which is mainly known for its Mining Museum. We are convinced that Landek's cultural and educational significance for the Ostrava region is of the utmost importance. It reflects the industrial heritage of Northern Moravia, as well as a large part of the history of the AWT group. Over an extensive area, visitors can also view the company's historic wagons.
The Mining Museum has been (also since 2010) part of the ambitious Dolní oblast Vítkovice (Vítkovice Lower Area) project, whose aim is to build a cultural, educational and exhibition centre on the foundations of the unique heritage of industrial monuments.
