Floods
Helping during floods has become a good tradition in the AWT Group. In addition to the traditional solidarity with the affected regions, in which AWT operates and where their employees come from, the AWT group considers for its moral obligation to make available large heavy machinery which is at its disposal, when removing the consequences of floods.
During the May floods in the Moravian-Silesian Region our companies Advanced World Transport a.s. and AWT Rekultivace deployed their heavy machinery as well as employees to build flood-protection barriers, remove water-laid deposits that could tear down bridges and clear mud and remedy other flood effects. In June 2009 both companies were also helping the municipalities and people in the flood-devastated Nový Jičín District. They were active also during extensive floods in 1997 and 2002.
AWT Čechofracht made a contribution for the repair of infrastructure of selected villages and helped with the transport of drying equipment to flooded areas.
Flood relief in 2010 was accompanied by a collection among the employees of the AWT group. The amount collected by the employees and trade unions and increased by the group exceeded CZK 350 000. Around CZK 50 thousand was distributed among employees who suffered damage during floods. The remaining funds were received by those, whose selfless assistance in times of flooding is often forgotten - the volunteer firemen. New equipment was acquired by volunteer firemen in the Moravian-Silesian Region (Paskov, Doubrava, Stonava and Petřvald) and Ústí nad Labem Region (Verneřice, Malé Březno, Štětí and Litoměřice).
Volunteer firemen perform, namely in the smaller municipalities, an irreplaceable role. They selflessly help not only during all floods but also during extreme winds, fires and other unpleasant events. They organise contests and activities for children and systematically work with young people to help them form their relationships with the regions they live in. However, at times when the firemen are not needed, their importance is often forgotten and a lot of them suffer from chronic shortages of funds when it comes to buying necessary machinery and equipment.

The BARRIERS Account
The main motto of the BARRIERS Account, providing help to physically disabled citizens, is "We help to bring people back to life". For several years, AWT Čechofracht has been among its benefactors.
The BARRIERS Account supports disabled citizens in the cases that are not covered by health insurance. It buys special health aids and also helps in other areas of life. When the account was established, the principle of the "limitless collection" was applied for the first time in the Czech Republic, whereby tens of thousands of donors regularly contribute small sums to a determined purpose. As a result, over the eighteen years of it existence the Barriers account has been able to distribute more than CZK 231 million.
Together with the trade union organisation, AWT Čechofracht employees annually collect not only financial contributions but also subsequently select a specific project earmarked for support. Every year, the provision of donations is published with acknowledgments in the annual report of the Barriers account foundation.
