About Us

The AWT Group offers comprehensive transport & logistics services on an international scale. AWT is directly represented in eight countries and has a wide network of other partners and business representatives across Europe, the Middle East as well as overseas. The Group employs almost 2 500 staff, and its annual revenues reach CZK 10 billion.

The AWT Group´s major business is in the rail segment, where it belongs among the biggest private carriers across the whole of Europe. The company possesses a large fleet of 160 locomotives and almost 6 000 wagons, which AWT also hires out and for which it also offers repairs and maintenance. The AWT Group also operates dozens of railway sidings and a range of rail transport services.

In the field of freight forwarding, the AWT Group provides services in rail, road, sea and air transport, and related logistics services.

An important competitive advantage of the AWT Group is the ability to effectively combine individual segments of transportation depending on customers’ needs. The Group uses its own container terminal in Ostrava-Paskov and networks of transshipment points designated for small shipments. The Group also provides the advanced system of combined transportation ACTS, of which it is the biggest operator in Central Europe.

In addition to shipping and forwarding, the AWT Group also offers comprehensive services in reclamation, decontamination, construction and earth works. We also deal in waste management, including the operation of landfills.

The AWT Group was formed through the amalgamation of several traditional companies on the market of freight transportation — Čechofracht, OKD, Doprava and Viamont Cargo. These companies brought with them more than 60 years of experience, a long tradition and international renown.

The majority owner of the AWT Group is BXR Group.
